Remembering 9/11

(197th day, 168 more days to go)

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the 9/11 attacks!! I was home with my daughter, who was sick at the time, when the attacks occurred.  We were fast asleep after being up all night trying to nurse her fever.  After I called in sick to work at 8am, I went back to sleep and was back up again moments after the first crash that hit the towers by the telephone.  It was one of my friends who called to tell me that New York residents were running for their lives.

Thankfully, I didn’t lose anyone I knew but I can’t imagine how so may wives, children, and co-workers of the victims felt going through that tragic event.  Even though it’s been 10 years since the attacks, I still have a hard time looking at the images but I will never forget them.

I hope that my daughter and her generation will never have to endure anything like it.

We remember the victims of 9/11
